Ralph Fiennes Chatting up Hades

Ralph Fiennes is in advanced negotiations to star as Hades in CLASH OF THE TITANS at Warner Bros., per VARIETY.

He would join Gemma Arterton, Mads Mikkelsen, Alexa Davalos and Sam Worthington in Louis Leterrier's film. Liam Neeson was set to play Zeus, but the death of his wife Natasha Richardson last month has made his involvement uncertain.

Fiennes will return to the role of Voldemort in the final HARRY POTTER installment, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART II, set to begin production in the fall.

C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters Ascending to the Bigscreen

Ralph Winter Prods. and Walden Media's Bristol Bay Prods. are teaming to produce a bigscreen adaptation of C.S. Lewis' THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, reports VARIETY. The production companies hope to have the film ready for 2008.

The novel, which was first published in 1942, follows a senior demon named, Screwtape, as he advises his nephew, Wormwood, on how to undermine faith and encourage sin.

Tribute to Animator Ralph Bakshi

The American Cinematheque is hosting a two-night tribute to animator Ralph Bakshi, who made animated features for adults (FRITZ THE CAT, the 1978 animated version of LORD OF THE RINGS) with a heavy use of rotoscoping. He often blends animation with brief live-action backgrounds. He directed The Rolling Stones' "The Harlem Shuffle" music video and was the inspiration for the Comic Book Store character in THE SIMPSONS. Silver Fox to produce ANGELMOUSE

Children's BBC has commissioned newly formed London-based Silver Fox Filmsto produce ANGELMOUSE, a 26-part series for the BBC. The series is about alittle mouse who has been sent down from heaven to help out. Graham Ralph founds Silver Fox Films

As of July 1, 1999 Graham Ralph is relinquishing his stake in London-based Hibbert Ralph Animation, which will then be known officially as HRA. This will enable Ralph to invest actively in future films and TV series' through a new company, Silver Fox Films. He will also be acquiring the rights to Hibbert Ralph Entertainment's library.
