Gnomon Registration Begins

Registration for the Gnomon School Winter Term 2007 (Jan. 8 through March 18) has begun. You can register online at www.gnomonschool.com, in person, via mail or by fax. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Registration Is Open for Winter Term Online Courses

Gnomon Online, the Internet-based division of Gnomon School of Visual Effects, has opened registration for its online courses.

Individuals interested in taking online courses focused on the development of the skills needed to do digital effects, animation and game development may register online at www.gnomononline.com.

Classes will be begin Monday, Jan. 8, 2007. Information and courses can be found on the site. Registration and payment will be done online.

Gnomon School Launches Online Training

Gnomon School of Visual Effects has launched an online division for expert training anytime, anywhere. Beginning in January 2007, courses focused on the development of the skills needed to do digital effects, animation and game development taught by industry professionals will now be available to anyone in the world with high-speed Internet access. Registration begins Dec. 4. Classes will be available Jan. 8, 2007. Information and courses can be found at http://www.gnomononline.com. Registration and payment will be done online.

Mika Salmi has been named to the newly created position president of global digital media for MTVN. Salmi was ceo of Atom Ent., the company he founded and was acquired by MTVN in August 2006.

Vivendi Games Acquires Secret Lair Studios and Studio Ch'in

Vivendi Games announced today (Sept. 28, 2006) it has purchased two development studios, Secret Lair Studios, located in Issaquah, Washington, and Studio Ch'in in Shanghai, China. The Studio Ch'in purchase is subject to the approval the People's Republic of China under Chinese Law, and Vivendi Games is in the process of obtaining such required approval. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Comicbook Icon Jim Lee to Work On DC Universe MMO Game

DC Comics, Sony Online Ent. Inc. (SOE) and Warner Bros. Interactive Ent. (WBIE) announced plans to collaborate with legendary comicbook illustrator Jim Lee to work on a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMO) based on the DC Comics universe.
