Sony Pictures TV International Launches Animax Mobile

Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) announced the launch of Animax Mobile in Canada and Australia to kickoff a global roll-out of a "dedicated mobile version" of Sony's popular Japanese anime channel that currently can be seen across Asia, Central Europe, Germany, and Latin America on TV via cable and satellite providers. Animax Mobile is specifically designed for mobile TV viewing using mobile streaming technology and targets users ages 14-34.

Brak Show Goes Mobile in the U.K.

GlobalFun, a wireless entertainment development and publishing company, and www.adultswim.co.uk have teamed up to develop mobile games.

The deal sees GlobalFun developing a mobile game based on the [adult swim] program THE BRAK SHOW. The mobile game is a sim/social type of game in the vein of THE SIMS and contains well-known elements and characters from the popular show. GlobalFun will also, for certain selected markets, distribute the title to its carrier and B2C.

Gameloft to Bring Shrek the Third to Mobile Gamers

Gameloft has signed a domestic and international licensing agreement with DreamWorks Animation to produce a mobile game based on the animated feature film, SHREK THE THIRD, in theaters May 18, 2007. SHREK THE THIRD, the mobile game, is scheduled for release across 170 operators in more than 75 countries, in conjunction with the movie.

The mobile game will closely follow the film's storyline of the film with appearances from all the main characters.
