Epic Games' first major announcement at this morning’s State of Unreal presentation is huge; next-gen real-time 3D content creation in both game and non-game workflows gets a shot in the arm with new UE5 features, enhancements, and support.
Users can now access the software with all features intended for final release, and are encouraged to experiment with new tools and workflows and otherwise put the program through its paces to help identify any remaining glitches.
Available now for download and free use in UE 4.27 and UE5 Early Access, the nimble 3DCG warrior stars in studio’s upcoming content sample project, ‘Slay,’ which will be downloadable later this month.
New hire brings extensive design and VFX experience to the role, having spent 14+ years working as both creative and design directors.
Now available for game developers, latest major release, expected to ship in early 2022, includes numerous new groundbreaking features including Nanite virtualized micropolygon and Lumen global illumination systems.
Slated for release in 2021, Epic Game’s next generation game engine looks to achieve photorealism on par with movie CG.
