In the new six-part series premiering today on Disney+, artists who’ve helped bring some of Disney’s most iconic animated characters to the screen, such as the Genie in ‘Aladdin’ and Young Simba in ‘The Lion King,’ offer an in-depth look at how the ‘magic is drawn one line at a time.’
The famed artist is one of six subjects in the upcoming documentary series ‘Sketchbook,’ which champions the process of hand-drawn character art in animation.
The 6-part original goes behind-the-scenes with studio artists who share their stories while teaching viewers how to draw iconic Disney characters; episodes hit the streamer April 27.
Awards for short form animated program, character voice-over and derivative interactive program, as well as previously announced individual achievement in animation and motion design, were presented last night on the fourth evening of the 2020 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The Adult Swim production is joined by FXX’s ‘Archer’ and National Geographic’s ‘Cosmos: Possible Worlds’ in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation category.
