Martinique’s ‘TOL’ named Best Caribbean Short Film, South African ‘The Sugarcane Man’ named Best International Student Film, and Malaysian ‘Biji’ named Best International Short Film, as Jamaica’s premier animation conference and festival came to a close Sunday night.
The free online event starts tomorrow, using the latest technology to deliver a world class event to a global audience; attendees can participate in masterclasses, the perfect pitch boot camp, and discussions on industry trends – the event kicks off with a keynote by Jamaica's Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness will also join the event opening; free virtual event runs April 21-25; Luhn is an industry veteran storyteller, writer, and animator whose credits include the ‘Toy Story’ films, ‘Monsters Inc.,’ ‘Finding Nemo,’ and ‘Cars.’
The free virtual event received over 2,100 entries from more than 100 countries, the largest numbers in its history; conference and festival runs April 21-25.
The free virtual event will celebrate ‘Diversity in Animation;’ the conference will begin on April 21, with the film festival starting April 15 – films will be available on demand after they are aired.
