Leading animation production company DQ Ent. Ltd. has raised $56 million through its listing on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market, reports ANIMATION XPRESS. The funds will be used primarily for the expansion of production facilities in India and of global sales & distribution networks, investment in partnerships, European acquisitions, and joint ventures.

NBCU Goes to Jupiter for Japanese Sci Fi
NBC Universal Inc. and Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. have signed an agreement for NBC Universal to acquire Jupiter Telecommunications' subsidiary company JSBC2, and launch Sci Fi Channel on J:COM.
Under the terms of the agreement, NBC Universal will acquire 100% of the equity of Jupiter Telecommunications' subsidiary company JSBC2, which currently holds the broadcasting license for Reality TV on the SkyperfecTV platform in Japan. The deal is expected to close in April 2008.

Ben 10 Licensing Continues Apace
Cartoon Network Enterprises has inked a host of new licensing deals for BEN 10 in the U.K., reports KIDCSREEN. The second wave of merchandising includes agreements with Blues (apparel), Aykroyds (nightwear), Brand International (footwear), Roy Lowe (socks) and TDP (underwear). In addition, Pyramid Posters will produce an assortment of BEN 10 posters, key rings and badges, Gemma International is working on a line of stationery, and Mr. Lucky Bags is on board for gift bags. The next step for CNE will be the larger European market and cross-continental licensees.
