Peter Claffey to play the naïve but courageous Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk), while Dexter Sol Ansell takes the role of his young, diminutive squire Aegon V Targaryen (Egg) in Max’s ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoff series.
The series never gained traction after being shelved during the WGA strike, with actor Kit Harrington revealing, ‘it’s off the table,’ because the team, ‘couldn’t find the right story to tell.’
Max's head of drama Francesca Orsi reveals not all projects will continue in development due to the strike, and while the series starring Kit Harington could ‘go either way,’ the actor and executive producer is still attached.
The series, which will stream on the newly minted Max platform, is set a century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ when two unlikely heroes, Ser Duncan the Tall and his diminutive squire Egg, explore Westeros.
The high fantasy scribe also assured fans he’s made progress on his novel ‘The Winds of Winter,’ while hard at work on the franchise’s many in-development series.
