Jerry Bruckheimer Games Gets Leads
Jerry Bruckheimer and MTV Games announced two executive appointments that officially mark the producer’s entrance into the videogame industry. Industry veterans, Jim Veevaert and Jay Cohen, will lead Jerry Bruckheimer Games, Inc. as President of Production and President of Development respectively.
Veevaert and Cohen will build a creative IP development studio focused on the development and production of interactive content and original intellectual property that convey and reflect the sensibility of Jerry Bruckheimer's other creative ventures.

EA Redwood Shores Becomes Visceral
Electronic Arts Inc. announced that its EA Redwood Shores Studio has been renamed and rebranded Visceral Games. The newly named studio will focus on developing action games with state-of-the-art technology, visuals, audio, and gameplay. The studio is currently working on the highly anticipated games, DANTE’S INFERNO and DEAD SPACE: EXTRACTION, as well as two other unannounced titles.
Lionsgate Open to Games
MCVUK.com is reporting that Lionsgate is moving into games, producing casual and mobile titles from its TV and film properties. The studio is seeking developer partners to turn films like CRANK, RAMBO and SAW into playable entertainment. These new initiatives would be separate from console licensing, which Lionsgate’s president of digital media Curt Marvis thinks the company's titles are less viable.

Lionsgate Feasts on The Hunger Games
Lionsgate has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the film version of Suzanne Collins' best selling futuristic young adult novel THE HUNGER GAMES. Collins will adapt the screenplay from her novel, the first in a trilogy.
Nina Jacobson is producing through her Color Force shingle.
THE HUNGER GAMES was published by Scholastic last year. The trilogy's second installment, CATCHING FIRE, is due out September 1, 2009.
