Softimage 'Six Education Tour' Coming to L.A.

Softimage's "Six Education Tour" to promote XSI 6 will come to L.A. on Jan. 25 at House of Moves, 6:30-9:00 pm. Sponsored by HP, Intel, Microsoft & NVIDIA, "Six Education" will be presented by Mark Schoennagel, Softimage 3D Evangelist.

In addition, Aaron Sims will screen his latest short, VERMILION, following by a discussion of the role XSI played in the production of this suspense/horror project - the first from White Rock Lake Prods., the new company formed by Sims and John Norris.

Singapore Uses Animation to Teach National Education

In Singapore, schools are looking to animation for more creative ways to teach national education, reports ChannelNewsAsia.com.

A particular video using sand art, which was screened at the National Day Rally, is the result of four months of hard work. The skydiving sequence alone took 10 days to create.

Mui Rui Yi, student, CHIJ St. Joseph's Convent, said, "We actually have to rehearse it 80 times, and when we feel we are ready, we did the filming, and then we actually have to film about 60 times, then we took the best part of it."

Medsn, a leading medical education company, was honored with a Gold IN-AWE award for Medical Education - Animation at the Medical Marketing Association's (MMA) national conference June 24, 2004.
