Sponsored by Film London and Arts Council England, the program aims to support black-identifying animators living in the UK; selected artists will receive £2,500 each along with mentoring opportunities, development support, and advice, to create 1–3-minute animations that will premiere on the Film London website in Winter 2021.

Programs organized around the event’s theme include panels ‘Diversity in The Media Industry,’ ‘Black Women in the World of Animation,’ and ‘The Creation of ‘Hair Love’ – From Script to Screen;’ Free online programs kick off on April 21.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness will also join the event opening; free virtual event runs April 21-25; Luhn is an industry veteran storyteller, writer, and animator whose credits include the ‘Toy Story’ films, ‘Monsters Inc.,’ ‘Finding Nemo,’ and ‘Cars.’
The free virtual event received over 2,100 entries from more than 100 countries, the largest numbers in its history; conference and festival runs April 21-25.
The free virtual event will celebrate ‘Diversity in Animation;’ the conference will begin on April 21, with the film festival starting April 15 – films will be available on demand after they are aired.
