THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON won the BAFTA award for Special Visual Effects over THE DARK KNIGHT, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, IRON MAN and QUANTUM OF SOLACE.

The 2009 BAFTA Film Awards were held on February 8 at London's Royal Opera House.

WALL-E beat out PERSEPOLIS and WALTZ WITH BASHIR for the BAFTA award for Animated Film.

The Pixar film lost out to SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE in the Music and Sound categories.

Simpsons, Secret, Feet Win Big at BAFTA

Fighting off stiff competition, Collingwood O'Hare Ent.'s THE SECRET SHOW made off with two awards at the BAFTA Children's Awards last night at the Hilton, Park Lane, London. The high-action comedy/adventure series for seven- to 12-year-olds received the coveted award for best Animation, as well as the Interactive award for its innovative website. The other winners were:

Wallace & Gromit Win Another BAFTA

WALLACE AND GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT has won another BAFTA award, picking up the Feature Film award at The British Academy Children's Film and Television Awards in association with Electronic Arts. The film, which also won the British Film BAFTA at the Film Awards earlier this year, beat THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST to the honor.

BAFTA Hands Out Craft Awards

BAFTA announced the winners of its Craft Awards on May 16, 2004 at a ceremony hosted by Alistair McGowan at the Dorchester. The TV documentary RESTORATION won the BAFTA for Graphic Design while Framestore took home the Visual Effects BAFTA for its work on SEA MONSTERS A WALKING WITH DINOSAURS TRILOGY.
