Cartoons on the Bay is an international event with awards, workshops, lectures, TV and theatrical previews, and events centering on the ever-changing world of television animation. The Pulcinella Awards Competition is open to all products in animation for television and the Internet, including pilots of series. The Competition is also open to short films.

The 66th Annual George Foster Peabody Awards recognize outstanding achievement and excellence in television, radio and Internet programming. With 21st Annual Gemini Awards broadcast set for Nov. 4, 2006, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television has already announced the winners in the Gemini Industry Awards at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto. MIPCOM announces the winners of the Mobile TV Screening & Awards 2006. The international trophies were awarded on Oct. 11, 2006, in a packed auditorium at the 22nd edition of MIPCOM. The winning titles were chosen by an international grand jury from a total of 23 nominated projects.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Scientific and Technical Awards Committee will review 17 scientific and technical achievements for 79th Academy Awards consideration, but its not too late to submit entries. Industrial Light & Magic is being considered for two achievements each.
The list of achievements is made public to allow individuals and companies with similar devices or claims of prior art the opportunity to submit their devices or claims for review as well, said Scientific and Technical Awards committee chair Donald C. Rogers.

Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants will be amongst the presenters of the 2006 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Aug. 19, 2006, at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, which is not part of the Emmy awards network broadcast on Aug. 27 on NBC-TV. The ceremony will air as an exclusive two-hour special on E! Entertainment TV on Aug. 26 at 8:00 pm.
