Autodesk Introduces 3ds Max 2010 at GDC

Autodesk introduced 3ds Max 2010 software at GDC, offering nearly 350 additional features. The 2010 release provides innovative creative tools: a render-quality viewport display and at least 100 new Graphite modeling tools. It also offers new capabilities that help artists manage complex scenes with greater ease and an unprecedented level of support for software interoperability and pipeline integration.

Artists have used 3ds Max to create numerous award-winning videogames, such as FALLOUT 3, PRINCE OF PERSIA and GEARS OF WAR 2.

E-on Software Announces Vue 7 Product Lineup

e-on software, makers of Vue, the solution for natural 3D environments, announces two new entries in the Vue product lineup, Vue 7 Complete and Vue 7 Pioneer.

"Our market research showed that, among independent users who were purchasing our professional solutions, many were doing so for a limited number of highly desirable features, such as, for instance, EcoSystem painting and wind effects. However, other production or workflow oriented features - that they were paying for - were of lesser interest to them", said Nicholas Phelps, president of e-on software.

Create Art For Concrete Jungle Through MyToons has launched its latest art competition, "The Concrete Jungle." MyToons has teamed up with Grammy-award winning music and film producer Quincy Jones III to give artists from around the world an opportunity to help brand his upcoming hip-hop and skateboard movie, CONCRETE JUNGLE.

International Festival of the Comic Strip

As part of the fifth edition of the International Festival of the Comic Strip, the National Institute of Nice Arts (INBA) has issued a call for entries for the comic strip competition. The competition is for artists 30 years old and younger and will strengthen the artistic and cultural exchanges between artists living around the Mediterranean Sea. The top 20 artists' work will be shown at the festival, all expenses paid except transportation.

MPC has signed two of the industry's most creative individuals to add to their team of outstandingly talented Flame artists, vfx supervisors: Yourick Van Impe and Rob Walker.

Van Impe joins from The Mill. Van Impe's recent credits include a Pontiac spot directed by Pleix at Furlined, Audi R8 by Olivier Gondry at Partizan and Audi RS6 for Paul Hunter at Prettybird.
