Sony Unwraps New Trailer for Seth Rogan’s ‘Sausage Party’
Sony Pictures Entertainment and Annapurna Pictures have released a new green-band trailer and poster for Sausage Party, the first R-rated CG-animated comedy from co-writers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.
The 3D-animated Sausage Party follows a hot dog named Frank (voiced by Rogan) who falls out of a shopping cart, and embarks on an eventful journey to make it back to his shelf before the big Fourth of July sale. Along the way, Frank ends up leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store.
At a work-in-progress screening earlier this year at SXSW, Rogan described the movie as an “R-rated Pixar-style movie” that ends with a “food orgy.” The new trailer follows on the heels of March’s red-band teaser, which teased audiences hoping for a raunchfest on par with South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. Directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon, and distributed by Columbia Pictures, Sausage Party will be served up in theaters on August 12, 2016.
