GLAS Animation Festival, taking place online April 6-10, has revealed its official poster. Also just announced is the festival’s annual GIF competition, held in collaboration with GIPHY Arts, is now open for submissions.

The GLAS Animation Festival 2022 poster was created by animation artist David Delafuente. With interests in the moving image, aesthetic theory, semiotics, and graphic design, Delafuente’s work has explored themes of queerness, displacement, and romanticism.

His films have shown in the Ottawa International Animation Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, Melbourne Queer Film Festival, and others. Delafuente is based in New York, where he continues to play with the relationship between the digital image and its consumer.

The GIF Competition for GLAS Animation Festival 2022 is sponsored by GIPHY Arts. To enter, simply create a GIPHY account, upload your GIF masterpiece, and tag it #glas2022 for a chance to win $500!

All eligible submissions will be available on giphy.com/glasanimation but it may take a little while before they show up on the channel!
