Animation Dreams VII: Awake to an Exhibition
Highlighting Emerging Artists from the School of Visual Arts' Film, Video and Animation Department.

The School of Visual Arts' Animation Dreams VII exhibition, curated by award-winning animation artists Don Duga, Howard Beckerman, and Irra Verbitsky, includes character models, storyboards, animation cells, background drawings, and films produced by second and third year SVA students. Animation Dreams VII is on display in the SVA Gallery, 209 East 23 Street, from January 31 through February 13, 2002, and there will be a reception for the artists on February 4 from 5 to 7 pm.
Also, there will an interactive animation event during the reception on February 4 called an Anijam, giving the public an opportunity to draw and see their work transformed into animation. Pedestrians on 23rd street in Manhattan will also get a peek into the animated dreams of SVA students through a window facing the street that features marionette dolls and a monitor displaying a loop of films by recent animation graduates.
