ew. no. this is the Simpsons not Dragonball. it's a cartoon that's supposed to be absurd and wacky. I've grown up on the simpsons. Since it's beginings on Tracy Ulman's show. I was barely able to stay awake that late, but i managed for those few toons.

i don't want a new simpsons. i hate "making things fresh" that's just a soulless marketing gimmick.

i want maggie never talking, bart and lisa perpetually 8 and 9. and homer spending more time working other jobs that he doesn't get paid for and various hairbrained schemes. and the jokes about brain damage with punchlines you see a mile way but laught at just the same.

there's already a "new simpsons" with fresh storylines and more adult humor. it's called FAMILY GUY!

OOO, i've got a couple laws.

1. severed limbs are spontaneously regenerated by the next scene
2. anything you need is always behind your back
3. you can only way to fall by walking off a cliff is to look down

OK, if most are against the Simpsons as a whole changing, would you object to a spin off series, perhaps a one off to see how it went, with more mature subjects, to be aired also where it has moved on a few years? And I don't think it would be a souless gimmick, its lost the soul of what it once was now, the spin off would be putting life back into the characters.

Stop obsessing over The Simpsons.
They had a good run for a few years.
Move on with your life!

that SOOO says The Roadrunner... XD but yeah... I don't see why everyone's obsessing over the Simpsons... v__v;; the Simpsons had a good run and even now... it isn't THAT bad... I mean... think about it... coulda been ALOT worse... the worst thing about what's happening now is 1. they're reaping the Simpsons for everything it's worth and 2. they're destroying a great legacy... v__v the Simpsons shoulda quit while they were ahead but naw... not it's gonna go down... badly. but that's just my opinion, of course.

My wife doesn't like exposing our kids (14 and 11 now) to the content in The Simpsons. Dad's an idiot, son has no respect for anyone. I don't believe that everything has to be educational, but I don't believe you need to put your "seal of approval" on everything either, just because it's popular.

The few episodes I've seen were ok. I laughed a few times. I didn't find myself dying to see the next one.

I don't like the fact that "prime time" animation isn't fit for prime time. There's none of them that is "must see TV" for me, and being the cartoon fan that I am, that saddens me.

Guess I'll go watch "Love Hina" again.

I think you can deny "Rugrats All Growed Up" as a comparison, but you're lying to yourself. It's a perfect comparison. It was interesting ONCE to see them "growed up" and then you realized that the charm was in the Rugrats being themselves.

You could marry Bart off, give him a couple little turds of his own, let them see Grandpa Homer and Grandma Marge once in a while... and so what? That's not inspired.

I'd rather they drop all of The Simpsons into an alternate universe where:
1) They were green instead of yellow.
2) Homer was wise and kind and Marge was an idiot.
3) Lisa was a brat and Bart was brilliant.
4) Maggie was a hamster.

I mean, if you're going to screw it up, go the whole hog.

oh, please... XD allow me. *drops them into alternate universe*

though, I must admit... XD if they did that, I'd probably be more likely to watch it more. hahaha.

I never found myself being compelled to watch the next episode with the Simpsons... than again, the episodes I've seen have been pretty good...

my theory? Simpsons... is sorta like Inuyasha... you can't watch it every day or else it'll piss you RIGHT OFF. watching it now and than can be good though. =) just my theory of course.

Um........ I personally could watch the Simpsons every day. Hell, I'd gladly sit through a Simpsons marathon of all 5000 episodes (or however many the total number will be when they stop making it) with duct tape on my eyelids to keep them open. Many of the characters on the show are quite complex and very entertaining, plus the writing is some of the best ever put on TV.

I think you'll need to elaborate on the "pissing you off" part. I'm having difficulty understanding that.

I look around at whoever else is watching it and there is usually scattered chuckling, at best.

Am not! hehe j/k

Honestly, I've only let out a "heh" at most for the Simpsons humor, but I can appreciate on an artistic level things like the parody elements (Dr. Zaius?).
I've laughed out loud at Family Guy, but not for it being well-written or intelligent, just its total absurdity. Over the top evokes that from me I suppose.

Somewhere in between is bliss, and that bliss is Futurama. *ducks tomatoes*

Ren and Stimpy, Family Guy give me a break. I'll take the Tick or Courage over those two any day. But I don't want to see Bart, Lisa and Maggie grow up any more than I want to see the great "mouse" caught in a trap.
