Zoic Studios Gets New Head of CG for Commercials

Zoic Studios has announced that Michael Capton has joined the company as head of CG for the company's commercial division.

"Our growth necessitated a top lead CG artist that could work closely with head of CG Andrew Orloff, and Michael was the perfect choice having worked with some of the top directors and advertising agencies in the world," said Zoic co-founder/executive producer Steve Schofield. "The business will always be about talent, and Michael is truly one of the best creatives in the industry. We are thrilled to have him join our team."

For the last six years, Capton served as a senior artist at In Sight Pix in Venice, California where he oversaw the production of spots for national brands like Coca-Cola, BMW, Chevy Tahoe, Harley Davidson, Chevy Blazer, Motorola and Taco Bell. Capton started his career at the now-defunct Electro Media where he first met Orloff. The two have collaborated on projects at various studios including Modern Video Film, Todd AO Digital and In Sight Pix.

"Michael and I have worked together on and off for nine years on high profile commercials and television shows," said Orloff. "In addition to being an artist that I admire, he is a great friend and I am really excited to have him join the company."

Launched by Schofield and creative directors Chris Jones and Loni Peristere, Zoic Studios is an award-winning visual effects and CG animation company in the commercial, music videos, feature film and episodic television industries. TV credits include BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, ANGEL, TWILIGHT ZONE and FIREFLY. Zoic has also done music videos for Linkin Park and Blue Man Group, as well as commercials for Nissan, Popsicle and Suzuki. For more information visit www.zoicstudios.com.
