Zoe Saldana Joins Voice Cast of ‘My Little Pony: The Movie’

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star joins previously announced Kristin Chenoweth, Emily Blunt, Taye Diggs, Liev Schreiber, Sia, Uzo Aduba, and Michael Peña, as well as the voice actors behind the ‘Mane 6’ from the ‘MLP: Friendship is Magic’ series: Andrea Libman, Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Tabitha St. Germain and Cathy Weseluck.

Hasbro has announced that Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Trek star Zoe Saldana is the latest A-list celebrity to add her voice to the cast of the company’s upcoming animated feature, My Little Pony: The Movie.

No details about her character have been revealed to date, but Saldana joins the previously announced Kristin Chenoweth, Emily Blunt, Taye Diggs, Liev Schreiber, Sia, Uzo Aduba, and Michael Peña, as well as the voice actors behind the “Mane 6” from Discovery Family’s massively popular MLP: Friendship is Magic series: Andrea Libman, Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Tabitha St. Germain and Cathy Weseluck.

Also unveiled is a new logo for the movie, which marks the first time the movie versions of the “Mane 6” from Friendship is Magic have been seen.

Directed by Jayson Thiessen from a screenplay written by Megan McCarthy, My Little Pony: The Movie just might be an expansion of the MLP: Friendship is Magic series. Here’s an official synopsis:

When a new dark force threatens Ponyville, they embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home.

Featuring the voices of some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including pop star Sia, My Little Pony: The Movie trots into theaters worldwide from Lionsgate Entertainment on October 6, 2017.
