John Yu has returned to Sideshow, where he previously worked as a senior inferno artist/designer, as its new art director. Yu has left his post as designer at Liquid Light, where he worked on projects such as the redesign of WNBC News Channel 4, the launch of the YES Network and a Dove Shampoo campaign.
"John [Yu] is the most talented inferno artist we ever saw, and he's a true designer. His new role as art director will allow him to use his design skills, make use of all the tools here, and not be tied to any one toolset or suite," said Scott Mantel, Sideshows ceo.
Yu said, "I am very excited to rejoin the team at Sideshow as an art director. It was comforting to know that the team and I shared the same vision of becoming a leading creative force and delivering concept driven designs. My strength has always been the ability to provide conceptual, creative solutions and handle the technical problem solving throughout the production process."
The 10-year-vet has received several BDA Monitor and Telly awards with a credit list that includes CNBC, Fox News Channel and Film East. The Seoul, Korea native moved to New York in 1986, where he earned his BFA in computer arts from the School of Visual Arts.
With offices in NYC and in L.A., Sideshow offers complete concept through finished production services to the broadcast and advertising industries. For more information about the company visit www.sideshowpost.com.
