Rapper Xzibit (PIMP MY RIDE), Amanda Peet (WHOLE NINE YARDS) and Billy Connolly (THE LAST SAMURAI) have joined the cast of X-FILES 2, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Chris Carter is directing the feature for Fox.
Insiders state that Xzibit and Peet are taking the roles of FBI agents backing up David Duchovny's Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Scully.
Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the top-secret screenplay, which is a stand-alone story that is not a sequel to the first feature or the TV series.
Production is starting this month in Vancouver, with the film set to arrive on the big screen in July.
