Press Release from Disney's California Adventure

For the first time, Disney has merged media and images with water to create a visual show that will transform the guest experience, evoking a range of emotion from laughter, drama, insanity and beauty similar to an onscreen performance. Set to launch June 11, California Adventure’s “World of Color” will be a spectacular nighttime water show (described as “liquid magic”) that will bring animation to life with powerful fountains that become stars and “actors” of the show, while also creating one of the world’s largest projected water screens.

How it works:From the minds of Disney's Imagineers, "World of Color" will combine hundreds of magnificent fountains, dazzling colors and an all-new kaleidoscope of audio and visual effects to take the water-infused entertainment to a new level of artistry and storytelling.

Bringing the creativity of Walt's early animation and sketches to life, as well as Pixar's signature images, storylines will be woven together as animated Disney classics and favorites are projected on one of the world’s largest projected water screens – a wall of water 380 feet wide by 50 feet high for a projection surface of 19,000 square feet, creating a larger than life visual show.

Leveraging a perfected system of flame projections, lasers and special effects, the show will flood the senses, taking audiences on an imaginative journey into the colorful worlds of animated Disney classics such as “Alice in Wonderland,” “The Lion King” and “Pocahontas,” along with Disney•Pixar films “Toy Story,” “WALL-E” and many more.

The “World of Color” experience will change seasonally, and be updated to include new animated characters.

There is no better way to share the magic of “World of Color” than to see it for yourself – visit the official Disney’s World of Color website for information, renderings and more. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/special/woc/index?name=...
