Wizart Wins New Territories at AFM

Wizart Animation signs new international deals at the American Film Market for its film ‘The Snow Queen.’

Santa Monica, CA -- Wizart Animation, one of Russia’s fastest growing animation studios, has announced it has closed new deals during the American Film Market. Wizart’s projects were presented at the Russian Cinema stand, organized by Cinema Fund of Russia. The Snow Queen (2012) will air in Latin America and Indonesia, The Snow Queen 2 (2014) rights were sold to Japan and Indonesia, and Sheep and Wolves (2015) theatrical rights were sold to Australia.

Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic has acquired The Snow Queen which will air on their Discovery Kids network across the region (excluding Brazil), this December 2014. To date, Wizart’s The Snow Queen (2012) has been released in 70 countries around the world including major territories such as the US, the UK, France, Germany, Japan, S. Korea, Brazil, Middle East, Benelux, Former Yugoslavia, Poland, Israel, Turkey, etc.

This year The Snow Queen will be released in Malaysia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and  Bulgaria, and there are planned DVD-releases for Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Indonesia.

OneVision Entertainment has acquired all rights for both movies from the Snow Queen franchise for Indonesia.

Transformer Inc., has secured the rights for  The Snow Queen 2 for all of Japan. The movie will have a limited theatrical release in this territory next spring. “Given the success of the Snow Queen, we are really excited about the Snow Queen 2 release. We feel that it is not just a movie for kids, but great entertainment for the whole family,” said Shinichiro KATO, Acquisition Manager from Transformer Inc. 

The Snow Queen 2 will be released this December in Russia and CIS, Poland, Baltic States, South Korea, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, the Middle East and in the UK by Signature Entertainment (with world premiere from Dec 12th). China, Malaysia, Israel, Turkey and many others are planning a theatrical release with this project in 2015.

S heep and Wolves (2015), will have a theatrical release in Australia and New Zealand in 2015. All rights for these territories have been acquired by RIALTO.

"We are extremely excited about the potential for Sheep And Wolves and anticipate a very strong showing for the film backed by a powerhouse P&A campaign which will undoubtedly attract a big audience,” commented Kelly Rogers, CEO RIALTO Distribution (Australia).
