A Wild DVD

THE WILD, the 3D-animated feature from C.O.R.E. Feature Animation and distributed by Disney, comes to DVD on Sept. 12, 2006 (Walt Disney Home Ent., $29.99). Very similar to MADAGASCAR, with its New York Zoo to Africa premise, these zoo pals are nonetheless more photoreal-looking than the ones that inhabit the DreamWorks feature.

Director Steve Spaz Williams is a vfx vet (nominated Best Visual Effects THE MASK 1994), who helped pioneer CG character animation at ILM through his work on such films as THE ABYSS and JURASSIC PARK. Producer Clint Goldman worked with Williams at ILM as vfx producer and the two are also known for their popular Blockbuster commercials featuring those CG characters Carl the rabbit and Ray the guinea pig. Featuring the voice talents of Kiefer Sutherland, Jim Belushi, Patrick Warburton, Richard Kind, Janeane Garofalo, Don Cherry, Eddie Iizzard and William Shatner.

Bonus features include:* Filmmakers commentary * Five deleted scenes* Blunders & bloopers: Eddie Izzard unleashed* Everlife music video: REAL WILD CHILD
