Wild Brain Taps Animation Supervisor Farell

Matt Farell (the MATRIX trilogy) has signed on with Wild Brain as CG animation supervisor. With more than 10 years of industry experience and renowned for his character and creature animation, Farell will not only supervise the animation unit but will also oversee pipeline issues and r&d.

"Matt's style is conducive to driving character nuances, which keeps the story moving along," said Andrea Mansour, Wild Brain's head of commercials. "And nothing should take away from the big picture. Matt's work raises the bar in terms of our capabilities as a CG character animation shop, and his experience will help us as we continue to expand Wild Brain's 3D talent pool."

Early on, Farell worked for Boss Films before moving to Warner Digital, animating A LITTLE PRINCESS, BATMAN FOREVER, ERASER and MARS ATTACKS! He then moved to Sony Pictures Imageworks, where he worked as a digital artist on CONTACT, STARSHIP TROOPERS and GODZILLA. He then held the title of animation supervisor at Manex Entertainment for the MATRIX films.

Farell's commercial work at Boss and Digital Domain includes spots for Crest, Dodge Neon and the Bud Frogs. He graduated from Columbia University in Chicago, where he studied film, animation, computer graphics and fine arts.

Founded in '94, San Francisco-based Wild Brain Inc. (www.wildbrain.com) is an award-winning animation studio that develops and produces content for the global film, TV, commercials and interactive markets.
