KidsCo, the joint venture channel owned by media companies NBC Universal, Cookie Jar Group and Corus Ent. will begin to air THE WIGGLES on their Asia Pacific/Sub-Saharan African feed in November 2008.
THE WIGGLES, the fab four of the toddler set, Sam Moran (Yellow), Murray Cook (Red), Jeff Fatt (Purple), Anthony Field (Blue) along with Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus have been entertaining children since 1991. With sales of more than 23 million DVDs and 7 million CDs worldwide, THE WIGGLES have become a major force in the pre-school entertainment scene and are already hugely popular in key territories around the world including the U.S., Canada, South America and Japan.
KidsCo’s animated and live-action television series and feature-length movies have been selected from independent programming suppliers including Cookie Jar, Corus’ Nelvana, Sesame Workshop and the BBC. Programming featured on the channel includes children’s favorites such as INSPECTOR GADGET, SABRINA, WALLACE & GROMIT, S CLUB 7, STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, NEW ADVENTURES OF MADELINE, BABAR, DENNIS THE MENACE, FRANKLIN and ROLIE POLIE OLIE.
Having launched just over a year ago, KidsCo has rapidly grown its international distribution and is now available in over 40 territories including Spain, Romania, Ukraine, the Middle East, Hungary, Russia, Turkey, Poland, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong and countries across sub-Saharan Africa.
