WIA to Present ‘The Future is Female’ at Comic-Con

Women in Animation co-president Marge Dean to moderate panel of guests representing film, TV, comics, VR, gaming and digital streaming on Thursday, July 20, at San Diego Comic-Con International.

Women in Animation, the organization connecting animation professionals globally to support women in the art, science and business of animation, has announced a Comic-Con panel hosted by WIA co-president Marge Dean on Thursday, July 20th from 10:00–11:00am in Room 7AB.

The panel is titled “The Future is Female: Women in Animation” and will discuss female creative talent by format and unconscious bias. Dean (general manager, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios) will moderate the panel with guests Paige Braddock (executive vice president, Charles M Schulz Creative Associates), Kelley Gardner (sr. director of current animation series at Nickelodeon), Maggie Malone (VP, creative affairs, Walt Disney Animation Studios), Angela Petrella (producer, Oculus Story Studio), Kristy Scanlan (WIA co-president and VP, business development, animation & games, Technicolor) and Sarah Malkin (VP, head of programming, New Form).
