What Lies Around With Hollow Man Fading

Like in the U.S., WHAT LIES BENEATH is showing its legs at the international box office, while HOLLOW MAN is fading fast. In its German debut last week, WHAT LIES captured US$3.46 million. FINAL DESTINATION crashed to second, with a gross of $2.6 million, lifting its German cume to $5.01 million. LITTLE VAMPIRE in its German premiere week brought home $969,183. In fifth, THE NUTTY PROFESSOR II: THE KLUMPS gobbled up another $878,918, lifting its German cume to $1.8 million. X-MEN materialized in seventh, grossing $683,497 thus raising its German cume to $11.56 million. In eighth, U-571 surfaced $571,067, bringing its cume to $3.1 million. In its Mexican debut, WHAT LIES landed $2.31 million. In second, NUTTY PROFESSOR II rounded up $434,588, lifting its Mexican cume to $2.34 million. HOLLOW MAN scared up $365,356 in fourth, advancing its Mexican cume to $3.04 million. Behind the INVISIBLE MAN redux was the X-MEN, with a gross of $303,830, which elevated its Mexican cume to $10.43 million. In eighth, THE PERFECT STORM added $91,688 to its $4.83 million Mexican cume. Rounding out the top ten, GONE IN 60 SECONDS grossed $73,922, increasing its Mexican cume to $3.5 million. In France, HOLLOW MAN made a decent showing in second with a gross of $1.87 million, raising its cume to $5.36 million. In its third week in France, WHAT LIES brought in $1.41 million in third place, bringing its cume to $5.97 million. In fourth, SPACE COWBOYS rocketed in another $670,098, advancing its French cume to $4.29 million. Down 22% from last week, 60 SECONDS scored an additional $521,981, escalating its French cume to $11.69 million. Finishing out the French top ten, THE KLUMPS collected $210,314, climbing its cume to $3.22 million. In its U.K. premiere, HOLLOW MAN placed second with a gross of $3.71 million. In fourth, SCARY MOVIE summoned $1.65 million, escalating its British cume to $13.29 million. SNATCH placed fifth, grossing $1.18 million, thus lifting its cume to $16.87 million. SPACE COWBOYS docked in sixth, with a gross of $715,317, raising its British cume to a scant $1.91 million. SHAFT dropped 47% in eighth, with a ticket take of $669,266, increasing its U.K. cume to $3.92 million. In ninth, X-MEN saved up $300,489, raising its U.K. cume to $22.22 million. Holding on to tenth for the third week, CHICKEN RUN raced in with $277,887, bringing its British cume to $42.79 million. In Spain, THE CELL knocked HOLLOW MAN out of first with a gross of $1.02 million. HOLLOW fell to third where it added $712,613 to its $8.48 million Spanish cume. Dropping a mere 2%, NUTTY II grabbed another $659,831 in fifth, lifting its Spanish cume to $1.34 million. In seventh, SPACE COWBOYS corralled $440,019, bringing its Spanish cume to $1.67 million. Finally, FREQUENCY placed in eighth with a gross of $381,930, advancing its Spanish cume to $3.47 million.
