WEBTOON and Crunchyroll Team Up to Co-Develop New Animated Content

Partnership will include series development, distribution, licensing and retail.

LOS ANGELES -- WEBTOON, a digital publisher of sequential storytelling, and Crunchyroll, the popular anime brand, have announced a strategic partnership for the development and co-production of new animated content. The companies will also collaborate on the distribution, licensing, and retail of each new series.

WEBTOON’s animated content will offer fans a new way to experience their favorite titles while helping creators to expand their comic creations to new platforms and reach a broader audience. Crunchyroll, with over 2 million subscribers, delivers Japanese animation to over 200 countries and territories, offering fans a 360-experience around their favorite series, including events, merchandise and licensing.
