‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ Animated Special Coming to Canal+ and Piwi+

Leading French broadcaster and its pre-school channel purchase rights to hand-drawn animated film, which has its TV premier on Channel 4 later in 2016.

LONDON -- Lupus Films, Walker Productions and Union Media have announced the sale of their eagerly anticipated animated special We’re Going on A Bear Hunt to leading French Broadcaster Canal+ and its pre-school channel Piwi+. The French title of the special is La Chasse A L’Ours, in line with the title of the French edition of the popular book from which the film has been adapted, which was written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury

The hand-drawn, animated film, which is produced by Lupus Films (The Snowman and the Snowdog) and Walker Productions and distributed by Union Media, has already been sold to ABC in Australia, SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway and YLE in Finland

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt follows the intrepid adventures of siblings Stan, Katie, Rosie, Max and the baby and their pet dog Rufus, who decide one day to go on an adventure through the countryside in search of bears. The film is set to have its TV premiere on Channel 4 later in 2016 and will air in France and other territories in 2017.

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is produced by Ruth Fielding and Camilla Deakin with Norton Herrick as executive producer for Herrick Entertainment and Helen McAleer and Julia Posen as executive producers for Walker Productions. Joanna Harrison and Robin Shaw are co-directors.
