THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER reports that Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures have hired Evan Daugherty to write another draft of their big screen adaptation of HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE titled GRAYSKULL. KUNG FU PANDA helmer John Stevenson will direct. The new take on the material will have Adam as a soldier who stumbles upon the world of Eternia where Skeletor is raising an army to rid the world of magic. Justin Marks had written the last draft.
This job is Daugherty first major writing assignment. His unproduced thriller SHRAPNEL is one of the famed Black List scripts in Hollywood. Originally written to gain a NYU-film-school grant, which he did not receive, he entered it in the script contest Script Pimp where it caught the eye of Energy Ent.'s agent Jake Wagner.
