WB Digital Distribution Promotes Hayes To SVP Business And Legal Affairs

Jacqueline Jourdain Hayes has been named SVP Business and Legal Affairs, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, it was announced by Clarissa Weirick, General Counsel, WBDD.

Hayes, formerly Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, will be responsible for providing legal counsel to the company's senior management on the acquisition, distribution and protection of content for digital platforms and other digital initiatives. She will oversee the negotiation of Warner Bros. video-on-demand and electronic sell-through licenses across multiple digital platforms, and manage legal issues around new digital business models, including the creation of digital copy offerings from packaged video devices and manufacturing-on-demand, all on a worldwide basis.

"Jackie has been working on our digital business for quite some time, her expertise in this area is unparalleled," said Weirick. "The digital business is still one of those areas where you are often making the rules as you go along, which requires someone like Jackie who is confident and creative in negotiating this new terrain. We are extremely fortunate to have her continued expertise as our digital business moves ahead."

Hayes has negotiated home video acquisition agreements for film and television content and for the manufacturing, marketing, and worldwide distribution of home video product, as well as the domestic pay-per-view and video-on-demand distribution of Warner Bros. content to cable, satellite and Internet licensees. Most recently, Hayes has been instrumental in the development of Warner Bros.' new business models and licenses for digital distribution by WBDD of film and television content across new media platforms, and has become increasingly involved in the new technology and copy protection issues associated with such distribution.

Hayes joined Warner Home Video in 1998 as Counsel, and was promoted to VP Business and Legal Affairs of WHV in 2000. In July 2006, she joined Warner Bros. Digital Distribution division. Prior to joining Warner, Hayes was an Associate in the Corporate Departments of Troop Meisinger Steuber & Pasich in Los Angeles, of Goulston and Storrs, P.C. in Boston, and of Moses & Singer in New York. Hayes obtained her Juris Doctorate at Harvard Law School, and is admitted to the California, Massachusetts and New York State Bars. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard/Radcliffe College, graduating magna cum laude.
