THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER is breaking the news that Warner Bros. and Facebook have inked a deal sync friends on the social networking site with Warner's Blu-ray releases, beginning with WATCHMEN: DIRECTOR'S CUT. Disc owners will utilize BD-Live to simultaneously view the film with their friends and make comments.
In addition, the WATCHMEN release will feature Warner Bros. Maximum Movie Mode, a splitting the screen between the film and director Zack Snyder's on-camera commentary.
WATCHMEN is set for release on DVD and Blu-ray in late July. The DVD will sell for $28.98 and the Blu-ray director's cut for $35.99. A special edition DVD will also be released for $34.99, featuring the director's cut and bonus material. In addition, the film will launch simultaneously on pay-per-view, iTunes and Amazon on Demand.
