WATCH: DreamWorks Animation Unveils ‘Trolls’ Footage at SDCC 2016

New ‘Trolls’ clip features the classic Simon & Garfunkel song, ‘The Sound of Silence.’

DreamWorks Animation kicked off the first of the big Hall H panels at San Diego Comic-Con International this morning with previously unseen footage from Trolls, the studio’s November release, and a first look at The Boss Baby, the forthcoming feature starring Alec Balwin, Steve Buscemi and Lisa Kudrow.

Due in theaters this November 4, Trolls is billed as a fresh, broad comedy filled with music, heart and hair-raising adventures in a colorful, wondrous world populated by hilariously unforgettable characters. Featuring the voices of Anna Kendrick as the cheerful Poppy and Justin Timberlake as the dour Branch, the story centers on the overly optimistic Trolls and the comedically pessimistic Bergens. The movie features original music from Timberlake and “soon-to-be-classic” mash-ups of songs from several other popular artists, including Gwen Stefani.

The Trolls panel, moderated by Chris Hardwick with director Mike Mitchell, co-director Walt Dohrn, producer Gina Shay and voice cast members Kendrick, Timberlake and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, featured nearly 20 minutes of footage from the movie, including several musical numbers. Following the panel, distributor Fox released online a brief clip featuring the classic Simon & Garfunkel song, “The Sound of Silence,” which you can watch in the player below:

Next up was a first look at The Boss Baby, with a surprise appearance from voice talent Alec Baldwin in his SDCC debut. Directed by Tom McGrath (Madagascar franchise, Megamind), produced by Ramsey Naito (The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie) and Denise Cascino (Mr. Peabody & Sherman, Megamind) and written by Michael McCullers (Austin Powers films), Boss Baby is billed as “a fantastical family comedy about the bossiest member in every family -- the new guy.”

No clips from the movie have been made available online yet, but you can take a look at the new poster below. The Boss Baby arrives in theaters March 31, 20117.
