Warner Bros. Searching for Its Superman

The casting process for Zack Snyder's take on SUPERMAN has begun.

The casting process for Zack Snyder's take on SUPERMAN has begun. Deadline.com reports that Warner Bros., producer Christopher Nolan and Snyder are looking at a wide range of actors between 28 and 32. Word is they are looking to find a relative unknown, not an established movie star.

Some of the top rumored choices are Armie Hammer, who played both Winklevoss twins in THE SOCIAL NETWORK; Joe Manganiello, TRUE BLOOD's hunky werewolf Alcide; and Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone on LOST and now stars as Damon on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are producing. Nolan and David S. Goyer devised the story, which Goyer turned into a script with Snyder. Nolan, Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are the producers with Legendary's Thomas Tull exec producing.
