Viewpoint Corporation, a leading provider of interactive media technologies and services, announced that it has expanded its relationship with America Online, Inc. to cover use of Viewpoint technology for new features in AOL 8.0, Instant Messaging, and within other applications. The new arrangement involves use of Viewpoint interactive graphics within the recently released AOL 8.0 client, including many facets of the AOL desktop. In enhancing the new look and feel of the AOL service, America Online worked closely with Viewpoint's engineering and creative services staffs to deliver results, which yield rich graphics and sharper images. "Our greatest thrill as a company is changing the way people interact online, and working with America Online certainly gives us an opportunity to do that,'" said Bob Rice, CEO of Viewpoint. "We look forward to making a contribution to the AOL user experience." America Online is continuing its distribution of the Viewpoint Media Player within version 8.0 as well as in AOL Instant Messenger.
