VH1 presents a night of animation with the premiere of VH1 GOES INSIDE: SOUTH PARK and the original new series, VH1's ILL-USTRATED, a half-hour animated sketch comedy show which unleashes the forces of satire on popular musicians, bands, pop icons, divas and all things pop culture.
VH1 GOES INSIDE: SOUTH PARK kicks off the animated double-header premiering on October 17, 2003 beginning at 9:00 pm. This one-hour special celebrates the animated series that took America by storm with its unique blend of off-color humor, politically incorrect takes on taboo subjects, sharp-tongued cast of misfit characters and rough-edged cutout style animation simulated on high-end computers. GOES INSIDE will feature unforgettable moments from the series and revealing interviews with its creators, writers, producers and celebrities, all sharing insider stories and personal memories about this landmark show. Interviews include Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators, writers and voices behind the show, Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, Bob Saget and numerous others.
Immediately following is VH1's first foray into animation with the original series VH1s ILL-USTRATED at 10:00 pm, when three new episodes will air consecutively. This animated series is loosely based on the cartoons found at CampChaos.com, the home of infamous NAPSTER BAD!, a series of cartoons spoofing Metallica's lawsuit against Napster during the Summer of 2000. Some of the celebrities spoofed in the premiere episode include Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Tommy Lee and President George W. Bush.
The first episode features Jackson at home with his animals, another explores his dancing abilities and the third parodies TAXICAB CONFESSIONS where Jackson is the driver and Robert Black is the passenger. The first episodes also take an animated look at Aguilera on the road, the real Dr. Phil, Bjork, Tommy Lee and Joan Rivers. The second episodes punches up Bushs attempts to read a speech on world hunger. Other featured artists include David Lee Roth, Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne and Guns N Roses.
