Valentine’s Day Character Design Contest Winners Announced!

The judging is over in AWNs latest Character Design Contest. To celebrate Valentines Day, the contest centered on the classic Romeo and Juliet scenario - We revisit the classic theme of forbidden love! Two lovers, either from different families, different clans, different races, even different planets, tempt fate to be together. History says their love is tragically doomed...but maybe, just this once, the fates will be bested!

The entries were judged by Larry Lauria, our long-time Animation Café moderator, distinguished animator and educator.

The winners are:

1st place: "Romio N Juliet" by Forum user NareshLarry A lyrical design of two lovers intertwined beautifully executed - a bit controversial... great colors!

2nd place: "Til' Living Death Do Us Part" by Forum user DanimationLarry Great attitude and posing and an off the wall offering.

3rd Place: "Ikanaide" by Forum user LinverseLarry An Anime rendition of two winged lovers.

Each of the three winners will be able to choose one item from a grab bag of DVDs and books, including Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Making of Ghost Warrior and The Official Softimage | XSI 4 Guide to Character Creation.

Congratulations to all three winners, as well as everyone who participated. Check out all the entries in the 2005 Valentine's Day Character Design Contest Forum.
