Unbreakable: Int. Box Office Hero, Chicken Still Runs Mexico

Touchstone's UNBREAKABLE is truly becoming an international box office hero with top place finishes all over the globe. In France, UNBREAKABLE held on tight to the top spot, with a gross of US$4.68 million, elevating its cume to $11.74 million. At #3, CHICKEN RUN escaped with a gross of $2.64 million, flying its French cume to $11.48 million. DINOSAUR roared in at #4, grossing $2.22 million, thereby growing its French cume to $25.14 million. In sixth, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS slew $1.16 million, increasing its French cume to $2.83 million. POKEMON 2 collected $904,057 in ninth, advancing its French cume to $3.21 million. Rounding out the top ten in France, THE 6TH DAY added $702,197 to its cume of $3.5 million. In the U.K., UNBREAKABLE reclaimed the #1 slot with a gross of $4.34 million, escalating its cume to $10.22 million. In third, 102 DALMATIANS collared $1.72 million, bringing its U.K. cume to $10.26 million. CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON descended into fourth in its U.K. debut with a gross of $1.58 million. In sixth, HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS snatched $1.01 million, growing its U.K. cume to $20.62 million. BLESS THE CHILD premiered in seventh, grossing $998,989. At #8, CHARLIE'S ANGELS dropped a mere 19% in its seventh week in the U.K. to gross $690,596, increasing its total take to $18.5 million. POKEMON 2000 grabbed $433,316 in ninth, raising its U.K. cume to $2.15 million. Closing out the U.K. top ten, THE 6TH DAY added $399,099 to its $2.91 million cume. In Germany, UNBREAKABLE held strong in first place against the debut of URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT with a gross of $3.8 million, blooming its cume to $9.16 million. The URBAN LEGENDS sequel placed third with a gross of $1.76 million. Falling 25% and finishing fourth, POKEMON 2000 took home another $1.27 million, bringing its German cume to $5.53 million. In sixth, THE 6TH DAY cloned $966,597, increasing its German cume to $6.99 million. CHARLIE'S ANGELS graced seventh place with a ticket take of $830,948, pushing its German cume to $11.31 million. At #9, the reissue of Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK swung in an additional $700,461, growing its German cume to $3.1 million. In Italy, UNBREAKABLE took the second spot for the third straight week, grossing $2.28 million, thereby lifting its cume to $7.32 million. WHAT LIES BENEATH surfaced in fourth, with a gross of $1.97 million, raising its Italian cume to $8.38 million. In eighth, CHICKEN RUN added $597,395 to its $2.79 million Italian cume. However in Mexico, poultry still prevails.
