Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (TWILIGHT SAGA) has made a deal with Nelvana and The Clifford Ross Company to create feature films based on BABAR, reports Deadline.com. The story follows a young elephant who travels from the jungle to the big city where he learns how to be a king. The feature film is planned to be a live-action/animation hybrid.

Jean de Brunhoff created BABAR in 1931, going on to write and illustrate seven titles. His son Laurent continues to write and illustrate titles today. More than 30,000 BABAR books have been published in 19 languages.
