TV-Loonland Sells Series To German Kids Channel Kinderkanal

TV-Loonland has made several key sales to Kinderkanal, Germanys free children's television channel. CRAMP TWINS, THREE FRIENDS AND JERRY and YVON OF THE YUKON will premiere on Kinderkanal in November 2001. Directed by Becky Bristow and based on the graphic comic novels by Brian Wood, CRAMP TWINS is a story of two 10-year-old twins Wayne and Lucien Cramp, who are completely unalike. The series is a TV-Loonland, Sunbow Entertainment and Cartoon Network U.K co-production. THREE FRIENDS AND JERRY follows four ten-year-old boys as they struggle to get through adolescence. The show is a co-production between TV-Loonland, Swedens Happy Life Animation and Nickelodeon UK. YVON OF THE YUKON follows the iron-willed, but dim-witted Yvon Ducharm, a 17th century French explorer, who has been trapped inside a block of polar ice for the past 300 years until a weak-bladdered husky came along and released him. The series is produced by Vancouver-based Studio B Productions in association with Alliance Atlantis, YTV and Telefilm Canada, and distributed by TV-Loonland. "It is a testimony to the high caliber of the TV-Loonland catalogue that, despite the limited acquisitions occurring in Germany at present, we have sold three distinctive properties to Kinderkanal," said, Marzenna Czubowicz, head of sales at TV-Loonland AG. "I am also very pleased with the sales because Kinderkanal is the only free television channel in Germany dedicated to kids content." Sebastian Debertin, head of acquisitions & co-productions at KI.KA-Der Kinderkanal, said, "Since its beginning, Kinderkanal has dedicated its schedule to a unique variety of programming that positively shapes young viewers' tastes in TV. We also pay particular attention to animated programs because we know that our audience loves them. With TV-Loonland's CRAMP TWINS, THREE FRIENDS AND JERRY and YVON OF THE YUKON, we have acquired high quality, age-appropriate content that fits perfectly in our new slate of animation programming which, besides having a special and unique design, are funny and intelligent at the same time!
