TV-Loonland And ZDF Team

International production and distribution giant TV-Loonland has again joined forces with German broadcaster ZDF for two new co-production ventures, SOMETHING ELSE and RUDI (working title). This partnership follows the previous TV-Loonland/ZDF co-production of the animated series PETTSON AND FINDUS and the upcoming LITTLE GHOSTS. Based on the book of the same name, SOMETHING ELSE (26 x 11), targets a 5 to 8 year old audience and follows the unpredictable adventures of the small, blue and furry "Something Else" and the long-nosed, orange and furry "Something." The project is a co-production between the German-based broadcaster ZDF and TV-Loonland, who have also secured a studio co-production deal with Vancouver-based Studio B Productions. The Canadian broadcaster for the series is Family Channel. Physical production on SOMETHING ELSE began in January 2002 at Telemagination, TV-Loonlands UK-based animation house, and Studio B Productions. RUDI (26 x 11) is scheduled to start production in June 2002. This animated series for children aged 5 to 8 stars Rudi the mischievous raven who lives in a junk shop with his owner. As part of the agreement, TV-Loonland holds the worldwide distribution rights to both productions, with ZDF retaining rights to the German-speaking territories for RUDI and Studio B Productions retaining the Canadian rights for SOMETHING ELSE.
