VIMN announces Russia’s TNT as a new broadcaster for the CG-animated “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has confirmed that one of Russia’s leading general entertainment channels, TNT, and New Zealand’s popular Channel Four, are the latest terrestrial broadcasters to agree to airing Nickelodeon’s newly re-imagined, CG-animated fantasy action and comedy series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Russia’s TNT will air all 26 episodes of season 1 from 4 March, at 9:30am Monday to Friday, with an additional regional broadcast on Saturdays at 9am and repeats on Sundays.
New Zealand’s Channel Four, owned by Mediaworks, will air season 1 of the hit series from March 2013. Both deals mark a triumphant six months for the Nickelodeon property since its launch in autumn 2012, and follow a swath of signings with free-to-air broadcasters globally.
To date, in Latin and South America the series is signed by Bandierantes in Brazil, Telenica in Nicaragua and Teledoce in Uruguay.
In APAC, Australia’s Network Ten, ABS-CBN in the Philippines and Okto in Singapore have also signed for it, while broadcasters picking up the series for emerging markets include MBC3 in the Middle East, LNK in Lithuania, and Novy and QTV in Ukraine.
The UK’s CITV, TVI in Portugal and TVE’s Clan Channel in Spain signed the smash hit before it debuted in autumn 2012.
