Turner Launches Cartoon Network Hindi

First kids Hindi channel in the Middle East and North Africa lineup to include ‘Ben10,’ ‘Powerpuff Girls,’ ‘The Amazing World of Gumball,’ ‘Adventure Time’ and more.

DUBAI -- Turner, a division of Time Warner and parent company of Cartoon Network Arabic, has successfully launched its fourth flagship kids channel, Cartoon Network Hindi. The platform that caters to the large South Asian demographic, is aimed at entertaining the significant number of children between the ages of 4 to 14 from the sub-continent residing in the region. Available in Hindi only, the new channel will include a line-up of popular Cartoon Network originals from Ben10, PPG, The Amazing World of Gumball, Adventure Time and many more in addition to popular Indian produced cartoon series that are also airing on Turner Channels in India.

“The launch of Cartoon Network Hindi continues to build on our popularity and position as one of the leading dedicated kids’ channels in MENA. It will be the first international cartoon channel available in Hindi throughout the region and we are proud to see it move into this newly developed chapter,” said Tarek Mounir, Vice President and General Manager Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, Greece & Cyprus at Turner.

Taking into consideration the percentage of South Asian families residing in the UAE and other GCC countries, Turner will be the first broadcaster in the region to cater to this untapped kids market. Cartoon Network Hindi will be available as a pay TV channel on beIN (as Turner’s exclusive Direct to Home partner) and on E-Vision part of Etisalat and du in the UAE. As a testament to the importance of launching such a dedicated channel, New Boy, a prominent toy manufacturer and distributor, has also come on board as a key advertising partner.

Turner is now the only broadcasting network in MENA to offer dedicated kids channels in three different languages Arabic (through its free to air Cartoon Network Arabic), English (through Cartoon Network and Boomerang) and Hindi (through Cartoon Network Hindi). The addition of Cartoon Network Hindi is a part of Turner’s continued growth platform planned for the region.
