TRAILER: DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Dragons Rescue Riders’ Debuts September 27

14-episode Netflix series opens up a brand-new chapter in the Oscar-nominated ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ franchise. 

DreamWorks Animation has just unveiled the high-flying trailer and cast of its new animated preschool series, Dragons Rescue Riders. This all-new chapter in the Oscar-nominated How to Train Your Dragon franchise follows the adventures of twins, Dak and Leyla, raised by dragons, who share a unique ability to communicate with them. The brother and sister lead a team of five young dragons, Aggro, Winger, Summer, Cutter and Burple with whom they spend their days rescuing other dragons and helping people in their adopted town of Huttsgalor. All 14 episodes of the new series debut September 27 exclusively on Netflix.

The new trailer provides a first look of Dak, Leyla and their dragon friends in action, where friendship, courage and teamwork are at the heart of every thrilling rescue mission. You can also find first-look images below.

Emmy Award winner Jack Thomas (Dragons: Race to the Edge, The Fairly OddParents) serves as executive producer and showrunner; Brian K. Roberts (VeggieTales in the House) serves as co-executive producer and showrunner.

DreamWorks Dragons Rescue Riders features the voice talents of Nicolas Cantu (The Amazing World of Gumball, Sofia The First) as “Dak,” who is in charge of training the Rescue Riders, and Brennley Brown (The Voice, Sofia The First) as “Leyla,” Dak’s twin, who is a whiz on all things dragons. Voicing the young dragons are Marsai Martin (Little, Black-ish)  as “Aggro,” Zach Callison (Steven Universe, The Goldbergs) as “Winger,” Skai Jackson (Jessie, Bunk’d) as “Summer,” Noah Bentley (Adam Ruins Everything) as “Burple,” Andre Robinson (Dragons: Race to the Edge, Niko and the Sword of Light) as “Cutter.” 

Additional cast includes Carlos Alazraqui (Where’s Waldo?, Happy Feet), Moira Quirk (Castlevania), Roshon Fegan (Shake it Up, Insecure) and Brad Grusnick (Bunnicula). The series features an array of guest stars, including John C. MicGinley (Scrubs, Chicago P.D.), Tara Strong (The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, The Fairly OddParents), Grey Griffin (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, DC Superhero Girls), Jacob Hopkins (The Goldbergs), Sam Lavagnino (Bravest Warriors), Patton Oswalt (Veronica Mars, Veep), Brian Posehn (The Big Bang Theory) among others.
