The first international trailer has been released for director Ari Folman’s (Waltz with Bashir) The Congress, an experiment in live-action melded with animation adapted from Stanislaw Lem’s sci-fi novel, “The Futurological Congress.” The Cannes Film Festival selection opened the Directors’ Fortnight sidebar on Thursday, May 16.

The film stars Robin Wright, who plays herself as an actress who agrees to be digitized for money, rendering her no longer in control of her own identity, along with Harvey Keitel, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Danny Huston and Paul Giamatti.

Here's the brief synopsis:

An aging, out-of-work actress accepts one last job, though the consequences of her decision affect her in ways she didn't consider.
