‘Toy Story 4’ Takes Home Producers Guild Award

Jonas Rivera wins again, alongside fellow producer Mark Nielsen, for outstanding producer of animated theatrical motion pictures; ‘1917’ and ‘Chernobyl’ also take home awards. 

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced this year’s winning motion picture, TV and new media productions at their 31st Annual Producers Guild Awards held Saturday, January 18 at the Hollywood Palladium. 

Jonas Rivera and fellow producer Mark Nielsen took home the award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures for Disney/Pixar’s latest installment in the Toy Story franchise, Toy Story 4. This is Rivera’s third PGA award win; he was also named top producer of an animated feature by the PGA in 2016 for his work on the Oscar-winning Inside Out as well as in 2010 for Up.  

Sam Mendes, Pippa Harris, Jayne‐Ann Tenggren and Callum McDougall were honored with The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures for their work on Universal Pictures’ 1917. The David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Limited Series Television went to producers Craig Mazin, Carolyn Strauss, Jane Featherstone, Johan Renck, Chris Fry and Sanne Wohlenberg for their work on HBO’s Chernobyl.
