Toonz Media Group and ELE Animations Create ‘Drac and Skeletons’

The animated kids’ comedy series follows two netherworld rivals, three prankster skeletons, and Drac the vegan vampire as they all try to outwit and outrun one another in Count Dracula Junior’s Castle.

Toonz Media Group and India’s ELE Animations Pvt Ltd have partnered to co-produce Drac and Skeletons, a new animated series aimed at four-to-seven-years-olds. Silas Hickey (Monster Beach, Lasso & Comet) will serve as creative consultant along with Paul Nicholson (The Amazing World of Gumball, The Heroic Quest of the Valiant Prince Ivandoe). Toonz and ELE Animation will produce the spooky chase comedy into a 78x7” animated series in 2D Digital format in two versions—English for international audiences and Hindi for Indian audiences.

Drac and Skeletons is about two netherworld rivals trying to outwit each other as three prankster skeletons take refuge at Count Dracula Junior’s castle, only to end up staying there forever! The skeletons try to outsmart and outrun Drac (a vegan vampire) but Drac has a few tricks up his sleeve. What follows is a hijinks-packed chase comedy!

Toonz will manage the entire pre- and post-production of the series. Telegael, a Toonz affiliate company based in Ireland, will handle voice-over and post-production of the international version. Toonz will also have the exclusive distribution rights to the series across all media platforms including L&M rights worldwide, excluding Ireland. ELE Animations will manage the animation production of the series.

“We consider this agreement with ELE Animations to co-produce this Indian IP as a strategic one since Drac and Skeletons has a universal theme,” P Jayakumar, Chief Executive Officer of Toonz Media Group stated.

Durga Prasad, Director, ELE Animations Pvt Ltd said, “When we first discussed the project with Toonz, we decided then and there that it is a kind of IP we should be part of. It has all the ingredients to be a fan favorite among international and domestic audience."
