Toliver New Animation VP at Fox

Karen Rupert Toliver is the new vp production at 20th Century Fox Animation, replacing John Cohen. Her duties will include the development and production of animated projects. She reports to recently appointed TCF Fox Animation president Vanessa Morrison.

"Karen has the expertise and sensibility with the development and production of big, all-audience, animated movies, and her taste and talents fall perfectly in line with the films that we make here at Fox Animation," Morrison commented.

Toliver previously helped develop CURIOUS GEORGE for Universal Pictures. Universal Pictures hired away Christopher Meledandri from TCF, who was president of Twentieth Century Fox Animation and animation exec who oversaw the hit ICE AGE movies, to produce animated and live-action family films at Universal.

Toliver worked at Disney Feature Animation as a production exec on BROTHER BEAR, CHICKEN LITTLE and MEET THE ROBINSONS. She also acquired the FROG PRINCESS book for Disney.

Prior to Disney, she served as vp at James Pentecost Prods., where she developed family properties, both features and made for television, including the feature sequel to ROGER RABBIT.

Toliver started as an assistant to producer Julia Dray, working on Walt Disney Pictures' MIGHTY DUCKS franchise.
